“I Think Not…?”
Performed at: Chapter- Cardiff, Newport Riverfront, DanceBase- Edinburgh, BodySurf Scotland.
Supported by ACW.
Choreography: Deborah Hay
Deborah Hay choreographs using a set of aesthetic criteria, which exists bellow, the surface of our perceptions, and includes a more holistic approach to the human being and the artist. Time, space and form are not cemented into the dancers final vision of the piece, but are relativistic principles, which guide the dancer perceptually through the dance and the performance.
Adaptation and Performance: Anushiye Yarnell
Wholly Holey Holy
Here And Gone.
No hesitation. No reconsideration.
The future has no one to hold, the past has no hands, no feet, nor phantom limbs.
What if there is a correspondence between the dancer’s aesthetics and her/his survival?
There is no time to hatch an invincible plan.
Ready! Fire! Aim!
“Somehow the next unrecognizable moment unfolds, the same as the last ... the bells, the spiral, the lovely melodic song and other instructions appear intermittently to carry me like my baby. We shed thoughts as we shed skin. Dust luminous in the sunshine, each day a new face. Still stranger and more familiar with each passing moment.
